Business Systems Are Sexy! – A Tech With Heart Interview with Andrea Hancock
Many small business owners wear multiple hats as they attempt to grow their business. Unfortunately, a large percentage of these business owners choose to focus on the parts of their business that they enjoy the most, leaving other critical parts unattended. Often those unattended parts of the business are organization, management, teams, and systems.
Organization and better business management come with setting up systems, even the simplest of systems like file management or calendar blocking and scheduling.
“At the end of a good system is satisfaction” – Andrea Hancock
Not every business owner is wired to know how, or where to start in creating a system, so it is best to start by noticing tasks that are being repeated or needing to be communicated on a regular basis. Start writing the steps of the task down on a list, or create a video of the task being completed.
The more organized a business owner becomes, the more peace and clarity of mind they have, and that allows them to focus on running their business instead of doing their business, and that feels sexy!
“To get what you want, you have to give it what it wants” Andrea Hancock

About Guest Andrea Hancock
Andrea Hancock believes that an organized life can significantly decrease stress in an inevitably stressful life. Born and raised in the Washington, DC Metro area, she graduated with a degree in accounting from the University of Maryland at College Park. Andrea spent almost 15 years in the fields of government HR, administration, and non-profit accounting. She uses her knowledge and experience to create processes and systems for her clients.
Since the start of her business in 2010, she works with her team to help Dexterous Organizing’s busy professionals and families with strategy, implementation, and (for those who are open to creating positive change) organizing coaching. Whatever their clients are going through the Dexterous Organizing Team can provide just the right touch.
When she’s not running the business, she’s in her volunteer ministry, reading and studying to improve her life (and a little for pleasure), traveling, and enjoying new and favored delicious food and drink. She also enjoys watching a good movie on the couch with her husband and Yorkie at home in Alexandria.
