Local Non-Profit Uses Augmented Reality Interactive Storytelling

The homeless crisis in the San Francisco Bay Area has been a negative news topic for the last several months. We believe you will find this event to be a positive force for a long term solution. We invite you to attend the upcoming Steel Sharpens Steel event in East Palo Alto, and share with Bay Area Communities the amazing village of resources working together to reenter homeless men as contributing members of society. Our company, REVEALiO, Innovative Software Solutions has partnered up with Retraining The VIllage, a Non-Profit Organization, to be the first to use augmented reality interactive storytelling experiences to increase awareness and support for these reentry services.

Retraining the village home for reentry

Halley Crumb and Joseph Johnson of Retraining the Village recently met the founders of REVEALiO, Innovative Software Solutions, Jerry Bowden and Michelle Calloway. Through REVEALiO’s Tech With Heart initiative, the two organizations quickly saw the power of utilizing interactive marketing technology to raise awareness and support for social causes, such as providing services for the homeless population.

Augmented Reality As A Powerful Storytelling Medium

Stories are a great way to get people to relate to your cause, your purpose, your mission. Being able to present your story dynamically is what makes it compelling and memorable. This is where REVEALiO’s augmented reality video marketing technology takes storytelling to the next level.

When an image on a company card “comes alive” right in front of your eyes, telling you a story, it evokes an emotion of awe and wonder. The excitement of this interaction opens the door for instant connection, deeper conversation, and possible collaboration.

About Retraining The Village

Halley Crumb, the CEO of Retraining the Village started serving the needs of the homeless population in the SF Bay Area in 2009, after working with homeless veterans through the VA for 10 years. Having experienced similar situations, Halley understands that helping homeless individuals begins with genuine concern and a kind gesture. Change is possible with the proper support. It takes a village of resources to make effective change. Retraining The Village is that village. They are the bridge from homelessness to permanent housing.

“The heart that it takes to care for another individual is not from one’s self, but from a collaboration of hearts.” Halley Irene Crumb

Retraining The Village provides stable interim housing, mental and behavioral health counseling, clean and sober lifestyle, and job training and placement programs. They are currently partnered with organizations such as Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Safeway, and Google. They are looking for more support partners to increase and expand their residential services for the homeless in the Bay Area.
